The mission of the Social Administration is to provide good care and support as well as to conduct activities that help individuals live an independent and active life. The Social Administration (SCF) is led by a director and is divided into four departments: SCF Support, Child and Youth Authority, Child and Youth Interventions, and Adults.

Target Group

The target group of the Youth Center is young people (13-20 years) who are at risk concerning drug use, crime, or other self-destructive behaviors. Many of the youth come from environments characterized by mental health issues and substance abuse. The Youth Center offers individual conversations, family conversations/treatment, discussions with other networks, and various types of program activities. The intervention can be provided upon self-application, as assistance from social services, or as a consequence of a court ruling.

Services Offered

The services within the Youth Center provide young people with a professional outpatient contact with a wide range of competencies that enable individually tailored support based on the individual's needs. Of course, we also collaborate within the Youth Center among the different branches of operations, which means that young people and parents can quickly and easily get help with various questions or concerns that fall within our unit.

Job Description

Youth Coach is one of the many services of the Youth Center. The purpose of the Youth Coach is to prevent the need for more extensive interventions through early actions.

The Youth Coach intervention is based on the individual youth's needs and implementation plan and can therefore have a varied content such as social training in everyday situations, motivational conversations, concrete and practical help to engage in daily activities, support and assistance to initiate/complete treatment contacts, and support in schoolwork. The Youth Coach supports the individual towards a functioning everyday life and works with the young person individually but also together with the young person's family or other networks. As a Youth Coach, you are expected to work independently while also having close collaboration with colleagues responsible for other treatment interventions at the Youth Center. Documentation such as monthly reports and record-keeping is included in the job responsibilities.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a higher education, such as a social worker or behavioral scientist. To succeed in the job, you need to have experience in social work with youth.

We prefer that you have MI training and systems theory training. It is an advantage if you have experience working with harmful use and addiction. It is also meritorious if you have experience working with youth with neuropsychiatric disabilities.

As a person, you are flexible and can easily adapt to changing circumstances. You are calm and composed in different situations and have the ability to focus on the right things. Furthermore, you are empathetic and can quickly understand someone else's perspective or situation. The job suits you if you collaborate and relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner.
